Faculty Activities A-G

J. Douglas Archer, librarian, presented a keynote address, “Tales from the Trenches,” at the Indiana Library Federation Children and Young People’s Division Annual Conference in Indianapolis, IN, on August 29, 2011.

Gary E. Belovsky, professor of biological sciences, presented a seminar at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, on March 31 and April 1, 2011. The title of the seminar was "The Predator Pit."

Harvey A. Bender, professor of biological sciences, attended the annual meeting of Indiana University FACET (Faculty Colloquium on Excellence in Teaching)  in Indianapolis, Indiana, on May 20 - 23, 2011.  He presented "Keynote" lecture at the Eileen T. Bender FACET Memorial Lecture.

Mark Caprio, professor of physics, presented "Computational Problem Solving in the Undergraduate Physics Major" at the Cottrell Scholar Conference in Tucson, Ariz., July 7, 2011.

David Galvin, professor of mathematics, spoke at the 15th international conference on Random Structures and Algorithms at Emory University, and also at the 24nd Cumberland Conference on Graph Theory, Combinatorics & Computing at the University of Louisville in May 2011. He was a visitor to the REGS (Research Experience for Graduate Students) program in June at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

Umesh Garg, professor of physics, gave an Invited talk at the Ernest O. Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Berkeley, Calif., July 18, 2011, titled "Nuclear Incompressibility and the Asymmetry Term from Measurements of the Giant Monopole Resonance."
