Faculty Honors M-Q

Cynthia Keppley Mahmood, associate professor of anthropology and senior fellow in the Joan B. Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, received a “Voices for Peace” award from the Institute for Conflict and Peace in New Delhi for “integrity in scholarship and willingness to stand up for the truth no matter what the consequences.”

Lawrence C. Marsh, professor emeritus in the Department of Economics and Econometrics, won “Best Applied Paper” in the 2009 Statistical Science Awards from the Centers for Disease Control of the Department of Health and Human Services for “Statistical Excellence” in his paper with coauthor P.J. Smith titled “Evaluating Assumptions of Weighting Class Methods for Partial Response Using a Selection Model,” published in Statistics in Medicine 27 (2008): 4569–80.

Juan Migliore, professor of mathematics, has been named an associate editor for the journal Le Matematiche.
